AI receptionist for trades

Never miss
another
job enquiry.

Bright Desk answers your phone when you can't. It talks to the caller, takes their name, number, postcode and what the job is, then texts the lot to you. You ring back when your hands are free. The job doesn't go to the next name on Google.

Built for plumbers first. Works for any trade that lives off inbound calls.

01How it works

A receptionist on every call, without hiring one

  1. It answers your calls

During work hours, after hours, or only when you don't pick up. You choose. The greeting is yours: your business name, your patch, your services. Callers hear a receptionist, not a voicemail beep.

    On the line

"Good evening, you've reached Hedge End Plumbing. How can we help?"

  2. It gets the details that matter

Name, phone number, postcode, and what's actually gone wrong. It asks the follow-up a good receptionist would ask: is water coming through the ceiling right now, or can this wait until Tuesday?

    Captured

Job: leak under bath, dripping through kitchen light fitting. Urgency: tonight.

  3. It sends everything to you

A text and an email within a minute of the call ending, with the caller's details and a summary. If you use a CRM or a shared calendar, we can push it there instead.

02After hours

This call came in at 21:47.
Nobody lost it.

Most trades enquiries that hit voicemail never leave a message. The caller just rings the next firm on the list. Here's what happens when Bright Desk picks up instead.

This one is scripted so you can read along. On a real trial, your first call takes about ten minutes to set up and you can ring the number yourself to test it.

03Why it pays

The phone is where trades work comes from

Nobody fills in a contact form with water coming through the ceiling. They ring. Whoever answers gets the job.

Heating pipework and valves above an orange boiler
  • Your hands stay on the job

Elbow-deep in a cylinder cupboard, the phone goes. Today that's a choice between the customer in front of you and the one on the line. With Bright Desk it isn't.

  • Urgent jobs get flagged as urgent

A burst main and a dripping tap are not the same call. The summary tells you which one you're ringing back first.

  • Callers get a person-like answer, not a beep

The greeting uses your business name. The questions sound like the ones you'd ask.

  • You call back with the details in front of you

Name, postcode and the fault, already in a text. No 'sorry, who was this again?'

  • Fewer interruptions on site

Set Bright Desk to catch everything while you work, then ring back in one batch at lunch or at the end of the day.

  • Missed calls turn into booked work

The enquiry that used to evaporate into voicemail now sits in your messages with a number to call.

04Do the sums

What do missed calls cost you now?

Drag the sliders. We've assumed only one missed caller in four would actually have booked, which is deliberately pessimistic.

Count the ones that ring out while you're on a job, driving, or done for the day.

£180

A call-out and a repair for most plumbers sits between £120 and £300.

05Who it's for

Any trade that lives off the phone

We built Bright Desk with plumbing firms first, because that's who we build websites for. The same setup covers most trades.

An electrician in a hard hat testing a meter on a wall
  • Plumbers

Burst pipe at 11pm. That call goes somewhere.

  • Electricians

Half the house tripped and the fuse board's humming.

  • Heating engineers

Boiler's down in January. They won't wait for a callback.

  • Locksmiths

Locked out on the doorstep. They ring until someone answers.

  • Roofers

Storm night. Twelve calls, two hands.

  • Builders

Quote enquiries arrive while you're up scaffolding.

  • Landscapers

Spring rush: the phone rings most when you're busiest.

  • Cleaning companies

New contracts start with a phone call, not an email.

07Questions

Asked by every tradesperson we've shown it to

Does it sound like a robot?

It sounds like a polite receptionist with a natural voice, and it's configured around your business: your name, your services, your area. Ring the demo number on your trial and judge for yourself. A few callers will still clock that it isn't human. What matters is that their details get taken instead of hitting voicemail.

Can it answer outside working hours?

Yes. You choose the mode: every call, only the calls you miss, or only out-of-hours. Most of our customers start with missed calls plus evenings and weekends.

Can it book appointments?

It can take the caller's preferred times and put them in the summary, or place a booking straight into a compatible calendar. Tell us what you use for scheduling and we'll confirm the fit before you pay anything.

Will I get a summary of every call?

Yes. Text and email within a minute of the call ending, and into your CRM if you use one. Each summary has the caller's name, number, postcode, the job, and how urgent it sounded.

What if a caller needs a person?

Urgent calls, or any category you pick, can be transferred straight through to you or a colleague. If nobody picks up, the caller isn't stranded: their details are still captured and sent on.

What happens to the call recordings?

Calls are transcribed to build your summary. Recordings and transcripts sit in your account, not in a marketing database, and callers hear a short disclosure at the start of the call. We'll walk through the details with you at setup.
